A single group was given forskolin for three months, whereas the other group used a placebo.
When the results were compared, the first group, that is the forskolin group, managed to cut more fat as the compared to the group on placebo. Though, no significant change in the overall body weight was recorded in either group.
Furthermore, men who were supplemented with Forskolin were also noticed to produce more testosterone. Testosterone, also called the male sex hormone is of great importance for a man’s body. It aids in the weight loss process by facilitating fat burning. Apart from weight loss, testosterone also helps in boosting sex drive.
Testosterone, also helps in stimulating the lean muscle growth. Thereby, a slight, yet unnoticeable growth in the lean muscle was observed in the participants, who were supplemented by forskolin.
The second study took a sample of 23 women, all with unhealthy weight. These too, were given the same dosage of the compound for a period of three months. The study on women ended up with different results as there were no major changes recorded in terms of fat loss. Though, the study concluded that forskolin is potent enough to prevent the further gaining of weight.
Both the studies suggest that despite Forskolin is least effective in weight loss, the compound can help women in gaining more weight and men in enhancing their body composition. Yet, the results are not strong enough to suggest forskloin for the weight cutting purpose.

As said, forskolin is yet not proven to assist weight loss, however, the plant that contains this vital compound has been used in herbal drugs, since the older times. Forskolin is highly beneficial for the patients of asthma, constipation, heart disease etc.

Is forskolin worth the use?
Considering the overall studies that have been conducted to find out its effectiveness on weight loss, saying this would not be wrong that forskolin may not be the ideal weight loss agent that can assist weight loss.
However, it may reduce body fat to some level, but on a whole, it might not affect body weight even to the slightest.

As said, a study shows that it increases the production of testosterone in body, which is one proven way to facilitate weight loss and enhance muscle mass, but sadly, the evidence is inadequate to get on to a clear-cut conclusion!
So, whether or not a forskolin based supplement will work, cannot be said. Many of these deliver temporary effects, whereas many fail to come up to the expectations even to a bit.
